Philoseed creates new tomatoes seed to close the annual cycle

The Company Philoseed Spain finds itself absorbed in the development of new watermelon's seeds and its "star product", the tomatoe. The President of the company, Manuel López, confirms that it's about green varieties especially indicated for the warmest months when the production is moving from its regular zone to inner zones, that are fresher and more adecuated to get to complete de annual cycle. "We are heading to the inner zones of the province, for example Gérgal, and also to those furthers like Zafarraya (Huelva)", explains López. The investigation consists of the development of hybrid varieties that will be more adaptable to the aforementioned environments In the same way, their affiliate Philotec, a business line destinated to the distribution of biotechnical products applicable to the agriculture sector, is investigating an "innovation" that is supposed to revolutionize the fruit and vegetables growings, "the biotechnical laundering products for tomatoes". It's aim is to increase the production of kilos for square meters, an aim "that needs to point the whole matter to be more competitive and to stand up in view of the importation of third countries".

Nowadays the responsibles for the I+D Department of Philotec, are developing field's proofs in greenhouses of different companies, and the first results have been widely satisfactory. "We got to calculate it, and increased our the production by 20% in tomato growings", said the President of Philoseed.

The increase of the output "is guaranteed" although the success rate will be ranged depending on the varieties. Currently the company is not giving more details because is working on it to optimize it and launch it shortly. As for the commercial section, Philoseed Spain want to make bigger their actuation mark in Europe and in the north of Africa and want to be also with the emerging countries " not forgetting that our main goal is to keep on improving our cultives in Almería".
