Miguel López, Máximo Duarte and Juan García Cazorla, president and director of the Almería based Expo Agro Fair and the vicepresident of the Chamber of Commerce of Almería and member of the Organization Committee are the responsibles for our agrarian exhibition of the province.

The main objective of the delegation of Expo Agro that is attending Fruit Logística, is becoming the agricultural model for everybody else,  as the responsible for this said: " It's all about praising our model as a whole, from production to commercialization, emphasizing the work, the traceability and the food safety".

One of the main innovations of the fair that is taking place in Almeria, from 18 to 20 April , means, according to the words of Miguel López, a return of the commercialitacion sub-sector. This initiative makes the farmers more important, promoting their work to innovate and achieve more productivity from their farms.

"The importance of the commercialization in the fair lies on the fact that Expo Agro has always had many orientations and in the last years it had focused on the auxiliary industry. On this edition we have understood that commercialization is important for this fair because it would become like a showroom for this industry"

This year, according to López, a meeting with international companies is also going to be held, in order to establish commercial contacts and also to exchange experiences. The foreign companies will be able to know then about all the work that is carried out in the fields of Almería.

The fair will host the XII Congress of Horticultural Sciences whose President is Pedro Gómez Jiménez de Cisneros.

This event is held every two years and for the first time is going to be celebrated in Almería, leader in the biological control and food safety. The congress will host researchers of different areas of horticulture, such as horticultural ingenieering, fertilization and substrates , breeding, post- harvest and industries and vine-growing.

With this forum, Expo Agro is increasing its popularity, as well as serving as a global platform for the work that is carried out in Almería, that has the highest density of intensive growings of the world: "one of the pillars that support the work of this fair is the commitment to food safety and the "Model Almería" as keys to promote the food industry. In this sense, the congress will deal with researchers and companies  what could be the progresses that are being carried out, and how could the companies assimilate them".
